 Both an angler and an accomplished artist, Tom Burke's artwork comes alive in a way not possible with the work of artists not so intimately familiar with their subject matter. Tom not only knows what a snook looks like in an angler's photograph but how it looks and acts as it sees a fly, tracks it out of a mangrove lair, inhales the fly and turns back for cover. A great amount of skill and attention to detail combine to bring his carvings to life, making you think of the water when you probably should be mowing the lawn or paying bills.
Wood Carvings/Sculptures
Tom's work includes several styles of carvings of both fresh and saltwater fish as well as carvings of ducks, kingfishers and other water birds. Prices vary based on the style, subject matter, size and detail. Custom/commissioned pieces are available.
 Trophy Catch
Tom often completes wood carvings based on a customer's photograph of a memorable catch. If you want to match the size as well as the look Tom also works with fiberglass mounts to replicate a trophy catch. He will tell you that fiberglass mounts are made my manufacturers, not fishermen, and the proportions and body position are usually way off. Tom will first fix any anotamical problems (i.e. fish plastic surgery) then paint the modified bodyform to match your fish. For the best match you will want a clear photo of the fish as well as the standard measurements (length/girth). The more information you have the closer your mount will be to the original.
Skin Mount Reconditioning
If you have an old skin mount that is discolored or damaged, don't throw it away. Chances are it can be reconditioned and brought back to life with a little structural work and some paint. Chances are good that it will look better than when it was new.

There will be no additional charge for shipping the three dimensional sculptures and fish tails (so long as our minimum order for free shipping is met). The relief carvings do not qualify for free shipping because of their larger size. Measurements given are length x width (thickness) x height.
The actual pieces we have in stock may not be the ones pictured here. If you are interested in a particular piece let us know. If we have sold the artwork pictured on the site and have another in stock give us a day or so and we will send you a picture of the item we have in stock.
With the exception of the bass sculpture, which is listed for $100, the detailed fish carvings are priced from $279 and up. The Relief carvings, which look great hanging on a wall, range from $63 to $125. Each is a one-of-a-kind piece carved and painted by the artist.
