About the Guide:
Capt. Robert (Bob) Jaspers is a conservation-minded Titusville, Florida native and US Coast Guard
licensed, full-time professional inshore guide. He is a 3rd generation native Floridian with over 30 years experience sight fishing the upper Indian River Lagoon.

Bob's family built a home in Indian River City (now part of Titusville) in the 1950's, which was the perfect place from which to explore the area waters. Much of his younger days were spent at Playalinda Beach, (now owned by NASA and part of the Canaveral National Seashore) or wandering the shoreline & backwaters of the St. Johns River and our three actual "lagoons" (the Banana River, the upper Indian River & Mosquito Lagoon) fishing, exploring and looking for adventure. His knowledge of local history makes for some very interesting tales which he loves to share!

Bob became an angler, and later a fishing guide, because of his love & respect for the Indian River Lagoon System. He believes strongly in the conservation and preservation of its waters, fish, flora, and fauna. For almost a decade he has been involved in mangrove re-planting of the northern Indian River Lagoon System’s shoreline, with funding provided by the Coastal Conservation Association’s Orlando chapter and the Fish America Foundation. Capt. Bob is an amateur naturalist, a college trained horticulturist, and a past Florida state certified Nursery Professional & pesticide application specialist. In his spare time he collects & grows bromeliads.

Bob specializes in spin and fly sightfishing charters on the grassflats of the Northern Indian River Lagoon System, including the Indian River’s upper headwaters, Mosquito Lagoon, and the Northern Banana River Lagoon’s Manatee Sanctuary, commonly known as the No-Motor-Zone. The NMZ is this Capt.’s favorite fishing ground, yet he has decades of actual on-the-water experience fishing all of these areas. The most common catches on area flats are redfish, black drum, spotted-seatrout, ladyfish, jack crevalle, and the occasional tarpon & snook.

Depending on what type of fishing you would like to do and where you will be going you will fish out of a 2004 Actioncraft or an ultra-light 17' Stillwater custom, one-of-a-kind canoe, equipped with comfortable seating for one up front, and rigged with stabilizer/outriggers, a foreward casting deck, and a stern poling deck. Fly fishing from a well-equipped canoe is a different kind of quiet flatsfishing, and a sightfisher's dream!

Please make reservations early. A deposit of $75 is required on trips reserved more than 14 days in advance. Refunds are possible up to within 48 hours of a scheduled trip. Exceptions are made for unsafe weather conditions.
