Turks and Caicos
Part of the same island chain that makes up the Bahamas, the islands of the Turks and Caicos extend east of the Bahamas into the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Other parts of the Turks and Caicos offer beautiful beaches and some of the best diving in the world. The main draw for us, however, is the miles and miles of hard bottomed flats inhabited by hordes of hungry bonefish ready to eat a well presented fly.
We fish the unpressured bonefish of the Caicos bank with Beyond the Blue Bonefish Charters (www.beyondtheblue.com) from their 24' airboat. The airboat will allow us to cross virtually dry areas of the bank in order to reach areas practically unreachable in a conventional motorboat. We spend the mornings wading the expansive hard bottomed flats and as the tide rises in the afternoon we may shift to the slightly deeper channels (or if the tides are just right we'll stay on the flats all day). We schedule our trips during the best tides for maximum time on the flats.
Our Spring 2006 trip was a great success. Everyone who went caught good numbers of very nice bonefish and it looks like they may all sign up for our next trip! See our photo gallery for some pictures from the trip.

Appalachian Mountains, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee
We host trips to the trout streams of the Appalachian Mountains on a relatively regular basis. Our next trip up that way is in the planning stages and will probably take place in spring/early summer 2007. In the meantime, if you're planning a trip to the Carolinas, N. Georgia or Tennessee and would like some information please let us know.
The options available make these trips perfect for beginners and experts alike. Those new to fly fishing for trout will find the numerous delayed harvest streams a great place to catch a bunch of trout and build skill and confidence. More experienced trout anglers may choose to hone their skills on the delayed harvest waters, fish a wild mountain trout stream, or try their hand at one of the demanding tailwater fisheries. We may also spend some time chasing smallmouth bass, which are every bit as much fun as trout on a fly rod. Both walk-in and float trip options are available.
Our Appalachian trips tend to be fairly relaxed. What we do and exactly where we go will depend on what you want to do. We have some great contacts in the area and can arrange pretty much any kind of trip those coming along would like. We've spent quite a bit of time fishing the Appalachian trout streams, love the water up there, and enjoy sharing it with others.
Give us a call, drop by the shop, or fill out our contact form if you're interested in spending a few days trout fishing in the Appalachian Mountains.
Mexico - Ascension Bay
Ascension Bay, Mexico offers outstanding fishing for bonefish and very good fishing for tarpon as well, but it is the permit that keep people coming back year after year. Ascension Bay, located just South of Cancun, is one of the great places in the world to catch a permit on the fly.
As it is part of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve the fish in the Ascension Bay area have been protected for a number of years. Every year the permit and bonefish increase in both number and size, helping to make this a truly world-class fishery. We don't have a trip planned at this point but will likely be putting something together in the near future.
Give us a call, drop by the shop, or fill out our contact form if you'd like some more information on our Ascension Bay trip.
Other Locations
There are an almost limitless number of excellent places to go fishing around the world. We plan on hitting as many of these as possible.
If there is any place that you've been wanting to go or someplace you've been that you think would make an ideal trip please let us know. We'd love to hear about it and may add it to our trip schedule in the upcoming months.
