Orlando Outfitters Knots / Simple Blood Knot

Animation: [Fast] [Slow]

Simple Blood Knot (Ligature Knot)

1. Lay the two pieces together with an overlap of a few inches where they will be joined.

2-3. Pinch the place where they overlap between your thumb and finger. Wrap the first tag end around the standing line 7 times.

4-5. Bring the tag end that was just wrapped back over the knot and hold it in place while you wrap the second tag end over it 7 times.

6-7. Start to tighten the knot by pulling on the two tag ends. When the knot looks even pull on both the tag ends and standing lines together or alternately to further tighten the knot. Before the knot draws tight moisten in and continue tightening until it is fully seated.

8. When done correctly the tag ends should come out of the knot at 90 degree angles at each end.

9. Trim the tag ends close to the knot.

About the Knot :
The Simple Blood Knot is an excellent option for joining two sections of monofilament together. It doesn't form quite as clean a knot as the Blood Knot but is regarded as a stronger connection than the traditional blood knot in smaller diameter material. It is difficult to seat in larger material (20# and over).
